Jean Bernard obtained a first degree in Bachelor of Science with Merit from The National University of Singapore. He has an extensive experience working with diverse groups of people with different nationality, culture, ethnicity, and religion. He has worked in Clinical Research for over six years, covering countries such as Malaysia, India, Thailand, South Africa, Cambodia, Australia, New Zealand and Singapore.

Through his travels to Soweto (South Africa), Kolkata (India) and remote villages in Cambodia, he developed a great passion working with minority groups and a genuine care for those in need. He answered to his calling and took up a Masters in Guidance and Counselling from James Cook University, Australia, which he intends to complete this year, 2010. Currently he is under the professional supervision of Elisabetta Franzoso.

Jean Bernard is fluent in English and French and has a first hand experience with the challenges of relocation, integration and the ability to embrace diversity. He has in-depth experience working with the sick, the terminally ill and minority groups.

He adopts an eclectic approach primarily based on a Person-Centered perspective in his therapeutic work. His counselling philosophy places emphasis on the present while not ignoring the past, and strive to empower clients to better manage their future.

Jean Bernard is currently completing his practicum and is taking in clients in counselling at a subsidized rate.
